problem with abit kt7

I seem to be having some problem with abit kt7 and memory. When I put in a stick of sdram for the first time, it boots up fine, but when i restart the computer, it dosent boot unless i put it in another slot. When I have tried this for the 3rd slot, it does not boot up at all no matter what slot I put it in. I have tried different memory and I get the same problem. Has anyone heard of this problem? Thanks.

I have the same motherboard and luckily i haven't had any ram problems. I have run 2 pc 133 kingmax 128mb chips in slot 1 and 2, and 2 crucial 256mb cas2 chips in the same slots and haven't run into any memory related issues.

Never mind, I put in a brand new drive and the mobo didnt recognize it. After I put in a hard drive preinstalled with an OS, it boots up fine.
