Hello,
I have a a8n-sli with an Athlon FX-55 and two raptors in Raid Stripping.
I just bougth a asus A8n32-Sli and an Fx-60.
I went ahead and installed the new MB and The FX60 and installed the two raptors in the raid1 and raid2 .
Got in the bios and enabled nvraid fot sata1 and sata2, and did the nvidia setup in dos for the raid arrays in stripping mode.
Tried starting it again and boots fine but it dosent star windows i just restarts before even showing the windows logo screen.
Tried switching the sata cables but nothing.
Help Please.
By the way i am using the bios that came with the MB wich is 1009.
Thanks

Maybe you are mixing up controller ... there is Sil and nvidia that both can do RAID and can be labeled differently.. Look at the manual

I know i am using the nvidia controller, as i understand it tou use the silicon image in raid you must conect 1 sta to sta 2 (Blue) and the other to the external sata input.
So thats not the problem.

ima starting to think that maybe what i am doing wrong is that you cant just trsfer raid drives from one MB to another... i dont know.
PLEASEEEEEE HELPPPPP

Hey there,

Unfortunately, You're correct... your RAID array configuration will only work on another mobo IF that mobo has the exact same RAID chipset. You cannot just switch mobos... that's why I've heard of a lot of folks purchasing separate RAID cards just so they have the portability to move their RAID arrays without having to rebuild when upgrading the mobo...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
