Problem with a TBird 1400 processor using a ABIT NF7 board

I am having a problem with my system, I donot get that boot beep and the screen remains blank at startup all the fans are running but nothing on the screen. I turned the power off for a few minutes and retried to boot and now I seem to just get a surge of power. The systems starts for a second and thgen dead again. I am not sure if it is a PSU problem or a MOBO problem. i remeber having this issue when I first got the board but it fised itself somehow miracilously. Please PM me or post any suggestions about what yall think it could be. Thanks.
 
Did you clear the cmos yet?

AFAIK, there is no jumper on these boards for selecting a "cpu".
 
I tried the CMOS jumper that didnot help much. I am not sure maybe its a heat related issue cause I am still using the stock HSF and running 59 Celcius at no load so guessing need to look into that any ideas would help too. Thanks
 
What's changed? In your OP you said that the screen stays blank.

Can't see temps with a blank screen. I assume now you can post?
 
Oh yah now I can post but having stability issues past the 5 minute mark for a while. Fixed that now the only issue is restarting. Everytime I restart it wont post again. I have to basically wait a few hours before I can restart once more.
