well I have had this drive for about 2 months and it worked great, recently formatted and reloaded windows 98 se and the drive does not work now, it is recognized by windows and will accept a disc, and read the disc, but when the disc is accessed to browse or explore.
my question is do I need a driver for this dvd player, i got it as OEM and it didn't come with anything else except the drive. or could the drive be going on me and be defective. I have never had a CD rom drive fail on me so I don't know the tendecies. it checks out in windows system as working properly. i have a radeon vid card with dvd software so that shouldn't be the problem, it worked previously.

thanks

Not sure if this will help but you might as well try the Pioneer drivers, get them from here
Note it`s at the bottom (ATAPI307.EXE ).
