hey,

my friend is having a problem with a microwave.

it's a fairly new LG lrm1250w, rated at 1200W.

it used to work just fine, but now it keeps on breaking the circuit breaker.

It's been tried on every single outlet in the apartment, with no other appliance plugged in.

What do you all think?

Yeah man even though its fairly new its probably going to cost more to have someone fix it then to buy a new one. It could possibly be a simple fix but without electrical experience it'd be tough to do. Unless you have a friend or relative who could do it and pay a small $ for parts only then would it be worth it. A guy I worked with at my co-op was a "TV/Appliance Dr." but he said with a fulltime job already he pretty much cut his business down to only dealing with fixing HDTVs. Thats the only way for him to make money.. otherwise you spend a couple hours and parts on some appliance like a microwave when a new one could've been bought for the same price. So I think he ends up with a lot of TVs that people throw away, he fixes himself then sells, so I could've got a nice TV for very cheap, I think a 45" or so SDTV projection for like $75.
