Problem with a BH6 (1.01) and a PIII 650

I am currently running a Celeron II 566 on an Abit BH6 version 1.01. I am using the latest Bios for the version 1.01 (QN Bios). On the Abit web page in the download section it lists PIII processors up to 600 Mhz for the MB but in the Soft Menu it let you take the settings all the way up to 700(100). I just bought a PIII 650 FCPGA but when I tried it in the BH6 immediately got windows (98 SE) registry errors and tried everything to get it to work but to no avail. I then put my Celeron 566 back in and everything booted normally (after setting the processor back to 566(66) in the Soft Menu). Is indeed a PIII 600 (I have run a 600E in this board with no problems) the fastest this board can handle? Also, the adapter is an Abit Slotket III. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

nagibbs, something else must be going one. FWIW I have a BH6 rev1.02 (BIOS version SS), w/ the 45N03 MOS-FET's, an FC-PGA P!!!-650 cB0, Abit Slotket!!! and a Thermaltake Golden Orb HSF and it hasnt' skipped a beat since installation. I'm running it @ core voltage (1.65v) and 100MHz FSB.

Try the SS BIOS and see if that helps (I'm not holding my breath though that the BIOS is the issue).
