problem with a aopen 12x dvd drive...

starting today, my dvd has been unable to read anything. just yesterday i was watching my fight club dvd, but once i turned my computer on today, it couldn't even read it. i tried some other cd's and still nothing. what's weird is that its detected in my bios, and i can see the D: in windows. anyone know what might be the problem?

I've had to have an Aopen 12x DVD drive RMA'ed for someone because of the same issue. They sent back a new drive instead of refurbishing the old one so it may have been the laser but I'm really not certain. Anyways, it was about 5$ to send it to them and the new drive arrived with in 10days.

darn, thx for telling me though. i was hoping i wouldn't have to go through the hassle of RMAing it. looks like i might have to unless i can fix this.
