OK this is a PITA.

new system with XP pro, sapphire 9700 pro w/ directX 9 and catalyst 3.0 drivers. connected via DVI cable to a dell 17in lcd monitor.

I get nothing. nada zippo zilch. If i use the dvi->vga adapter it works fine (Lcd has vga and dvi inputs) if I use the other vga port on the card it works fine.

now before I updated to 3.0 drivers. it had worked on this monitor. but it would not work with a 50in plasma screen (that's going to be it's main display when all is done) I suspect the custom dvi cable for it, so I tried it with the dell lcd and a dell factory 18 pin dvi cable. it worked.

I'm wondering now if the dvi port is shot?

tomorrow i'll try using the old drivers, but any input would be appreciated

I'm just guessing, but wouldn't you need a HGTV adapter for the plasma? The LCD should work fine, but again, just guessing, make sure your change the display outputs in your control panel for the new 3.0 Catalyst drivers. Good luck.

the plasma should work fine I had a display but it looked like crap. I've been hearing some other problems w/ 3.0 drivers so I'm really hoping that's the problem
