problem w/win98 initial installation

I have recently encounter this on my pentium233mmx 64ram guillemont banshee ibm 14gig system it always hang when it is preparing it self to getting ready to install the win98se it is right after the very very first screen which asks you to continue then the next screen just doing the 0 to 100 preparation and right after it reaches 100% the black rectangle screen right in the middle of the screen poped anyone know why? I have tried to install in two different cd-rom and also directly from HD and different HD too.
 
Sound like a display card problem. Try putting it in a different PCI slot (it's PCI, I assume), or maybe a different display card.

I doubt it, I never o/c my video card and plus I only had it since like feb. of this year, could anyone else think of anyother problem might be?
