problem w/ directx 9 installation

installation aborts at windows logo testing....i'm guessing it's because i'm using a *cough cough* beta version of windows xp. any way to get around this?



i do own a legal copy of winXP, i just bought it after i installed this version. too much hassle to format and reinstall everything.
