Problem w/ Corsair 800D & Samsung 830 SSD

Hi guys,

So for some reason, when I screw in my Samsung SSD into any of the hot swap bays on the case, it isn't identified by my system at boot up.

Now of course my first thought was that I need a 2.5"-3.5" conversion bay, but as it turns out the Corsair hot swap bays on the 800D are specifically designed to accommodate both SSDs and regular mechanical drives. Furthermore, most 2.5" to 3.5" conversion bays seem to actually be incompatible with the 800D, presumably because it is already made to accommodate SSDs.

As a result, I now have my hard drive attached to a SATA port and sort of nestled/dangling between a few wires inside my case. While my ambient temps seem adequate enough to make this a decent temporary solution, I am in somewhat of a pickle as far as a permanent solution goes.

Can anyone recommend a 2.5" conversion bay that for sure works with the 800D?

Are you sure its making contact with the backplane? Is it all of the backplane ports? Have you checked the SATA cables from the backplane?

I used to use an Icy Dock (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817994064) for 2.5" to 3.5" down in the drive bays below the hotswap, but it also works in the hot swap (I've used it there before). I replaced my backplane with Corsair's SATA 6Gbps backplane upgrade, though.

Ya I assume it's not making contact w/ the backplane. If you've used the Icy Dock in an 800D and it works perfectly in the hot swap bays, then I'll just go ahead and get one for ~$25 after shipping.

Oh and 800Ds are now shipping w/ SATA 6Gbps standard btw.
