I have winxp and 2000, and neither will let me play counterstrike at any refresh rate higher then 60hz at any resolution. I know that xp and 2k default to 60hz, but is their something to override this setting? I know nvidiia has a fix , but ati does not yet I think. BS company. Somebody please hlep. I"m in CS withdrawl here! BAD!

She'he is looking for a refresh rate fix for ATi, not nVidia. For DirectX applications you can use dxdiag which comes with Windows to set the DirectX refresh rate to whatever you wish, for OpenGL I'm not sure though.

The nvidia refresh rate fix was NOT released by nvidia so don't go praising them and badmouthing ATI.... the fix was actually released by a programmer. Besides, this is Microsoft's fault.

Try this

ATI refresh rate fix

If you're not sure whether you wanna try it or not.. read this thread.. its working for the other users.

You can also use PowerStrip to force refresh rates on pretty much any card out there.
