Problem, thinking it's my video card?

DFI nf3 250gb
3200+ a64(754)
2GB ram
x800xl
450w psu(maybe 500)
xp pro
latest drivers


I've been battling this problem for a while but it didn't really bother me enough to troubleshoot. Here's the games I play:

CSS
CoD2
BF2
FEAR
BF1942(just recently installed)

When I play fear, within the first 5 minutes my screen goes crazy. I can hear the sound for a few seconds then it just shuts off(reboots but doesn't POST). There are lines across the screen too.

I figured it was a driver issue since every other game I play works fine with not ONE problem.

Well I wanted to get back into bf1942 so I installed it and as soon as I load a map(or close to that time) it does the same thing. Lines across the screen followed by a reboot without POST.

That was when I was using some older drivers(4-6 months ago). I thought it might be a driver issue so I uninstalled the drivers and also used driver cleaner then installed the latest drivers from ati.

I still get the same crap in just those two games alone. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

yep, sounds like the video card is going to the crapper, if your mobo still has an AGP slot on it then I highly reccommend upgrading to a x1950 pro 512mb....I replaced my OC'd 7800GS the other day with one and I haven't looked back since...
