Hi everyone,

I have a samsung dynaflat SyncMaster 955DF 19" CRT and I installed an ATI 9600XT recently (I had a GF3 ti200 before). I never used 1600x1200 before, was always at 1280x1024, but I figured I'd try the 16x12 to see how it is.

Well, the problem is that when I do put it at 1600x1200, the screen resolution doesn't "fit" on the screen. In other words, I can move my mouse to the right edge or the bottom edge of the screen and it will scroll over till it hits the end of the desktop...kind of like if you try to view a 1600x1200 picture in a 1280x1024 resolution, you'll have to scroll over to see the rest of the picture.

Now I know my monitor can handle 1600x1200, I just don't know if it's a setting in the ATI software thats doing this or whatnot. Maybe it's a common issue, maybe not, I really don't know and can't seem to figure it out.

Anyone have any idea what I can do?

Running: XP Pro, ATI 9600XT

Make sure that the monitor driver that your OS has installed supports 1600x1200

Hmm...never thought about that.

I used the CD that came w/ the monitor so I'd assume it would work w/ 16x12 since samsung claims it goes to 1600x1200, but I will look into that thanks.

DCC for some reason reports that the 955DF can't display 1600x1200.

Go to display properties->settings->advanced->Displays->Monitor
Uncheck the circle that says "Use DDC information" and in "Maximum Resolution", change it to 1600x1200.

Just to point out, on this monitor 1600x1200 can only be at 60Hz refresh, and in addition to that it's so blurry that I think it's pointless. Perhaps your eyes are better and less sensitive, but my eyes really aren't bad.

woah,

clicknext, yeah what you said made everything work. But you are also correct in that it has a max of 60hz refresh rate and it's blurry as hell and I can just see the low the frequency running through the monitors...hurts so bad haha.

Ok sticking w/ 1280x1024.

Mods u can lock this up now, thanks.
