Problem Solved Lock Please :)

I have just installed a new legit copy of Windows and I am getting ready to activate it and it keeps on saying that I am not connected to the internet and I should check my internet connection. It is no problem to get online though and I set up my own little homework network (since I use a router to connect a couple of computers) I have tried what I know and it won't let me activate windows or download updates. Can anyone help me please?

Try setting the machine you want to activate in the routers DMZ.

Could be a port being blocked or something that windows requires to be activated.

If that works you should be able to remove the machine from the DMZ when your done.

I tried doing that but it still won't let me do anything. I called in to activate Windows but now I can't update Windows. Weird I guess. Never had this problem.

Call Microsoft and do the phone activation.

Thanks, I already did that. The only problem now is that I cannot update anything.

Just a quick idea about editing the topic line.... maybe it's not a good idea to edit the line so that your original title is gone. A lot of folks use the search engine to find posts similar to their problem.

Maybe just editing the title to say "<Original Title>-- solved".
