PROBLEM SOLVED - Is my Motherboard dead?

Hello everybody,

Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

One of my computers won't post. It tries to spin the CD-ROM and the hard drive once, and stops. Does not send a signal to the monitor, does not beep, no smoke is coming out of the case (I am just looking for any indications). It will not let me go into BIOS, nothing.

Where should I start troubleshooting? Or should I just toss it? It is an AMD K6-2 400 MHz on a PCChips motherboard with everything integrated into the MB.

Thanks for help.

It could be a bad Vid chip, but seeing as how its a PCChips board, Junk it and move up to something better. Even your CPU is of little value. Socket 7 is history.

Problem solved: It was just a bad power supply. I replaced it and the computer came back to life (whatever little slow life it has).
