So I bought this Microsoft Intellimouse Optical (5-button) about a month and a half ago, and now it double-clicks about two-thirds of the time I click the normal left-click button. No, I'm not purposely double-clicking.... it does it by itself. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. It's fricking annoying.... like if I have two windows overlapping, and I click on the "X" to close one, it'll close the one behind it as well! does anyone here have experience with a similar problem? Thanks for any help.....

ooof...i've had that problem w/ my old generic optical mouse...ahhahha ...that's why i bought a microsoft explorer 5 button mouse....

donno...try reinstalling the drivers...if that doesnt' work..then...see if u can get it rma'd or replaced via microsoft or something...

MS has great hardware CS..it will be no problem, as long as you have the serial numbers and such on the mouse, and you didn't steal it from them

If you have installed intellipoint software, click on the mouse icon in the taskbar, Select the activities tab and you can adust the double click speed. You need to slow it down some.

hmm, just tried that, and it seems to be working. I had messed with that control before, but I thought that I should make it *faster* rather than slower. Hmm, don't know what I was thinking. Thanks!
