I had to move my nic to make room for an ISA modem. Since moving it i cannot get it to read my other computers. I removed my modem from the isa and tried the same pci slot again and worked. tried to move it around again on every pci slot i have except the one using my sound card and it won't work. now it won't work in the original pci slot that it was in.

sure could use some help with this one, Thanks

Try completely getting rid of all REG entries that pertain to the NIC. I have had similar problems and it had something to do with the resources it was trying to use (can't really explain it better than that). Anyway, disable and remove it from the system...reboot....remove registry entries for the drivers and make sure there are no resources allocated to the "phantom" nic. Try to reinstall....

It worked for me....I hope it works for you! :)

Yeah,

sounds like you need to remove your drivers for it before attempting to move it around.

That was a mistake because PCI slots are IRQ related. In other words, each PCI slot has different IRQs it shares with. So you may have just moved it where there is a conflict.

The best solution is to get rid of the ISA modem. They are a PITA anyway.

If you have a choice, get an external modem and put your NIC back where it was.
