Hopefully I have this in the right section.

I am trying to play Command and Conquer 3 with my brother over lan. I am a little noobish with setting up lan games, as I usually just play online. Anyway, we tried playing diablo 2 over lan and it worked fine. Here is my problem-

"Connection Timed Out"

One creates a game, the other tries to join it and gets that message.

We are using a Linksys wireless G router, which works fine playing diablo 2. Possibly its not fast enough for cnc?

Info-
Diablo 2 works fine
Both comps play single player fine
Both connect to the internet fine
I have turned off the firewalls on both, then tried to turn off windows control of firewalls, just to make sure there was no firewall.
Antivirus is not the problem, I uninstalled it from both trying to get this to work.

Thanks, Max

Try to use static IPs for the pc's. 192.168.1.100 for pc1, 192.168.1.101 for pc2, & so forth. It's a LOT easiler to set up a lan with static IPs than dynamic which is the default for most routers. Oh and you either have to restart the pc or do these command lines:

START, RUN, CMD

ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

They will clear old settings from the NIC. Basically, it's like a new NIC. Oh, and by the way, disable wireless encryption as a test. If that works, enable WEP. If that works, enable WPA if you wish.
