Problem setting HT value

Hi,

I am using a MSI K8T800 Neo2-FIR (K8T800 Pro chipset) motherboard with an X2 4400+ and 4*512MB OCZ Premier value memory. This MB does not sport a HT multiplier, instead it gives an option to set the actual HT Frequency as 200/400/600/800/1000. The problem I am facing is that any HT frequency value other than 200 causes XP to crash with a BSOD (even during installation). I am forced to set the HT only to 200.

Here is a link to the exact page in Bios:

Is such a low HT value a problem? Is there a reason why the MB won't allow me to set a higher frequency. The latest bios has been used and all values are stock/defaults - no C'nQ.

Figuring out what BIOS manufacturers mean with their labels is confusing at best. The 200 mhz would be correct if that is a base frequency, and the normal 5x multiplier is being applied.

Looking at your screenshot, it sounds like they are inferring the multiplier from the other settings. /scratches head.
