I bought an 80 gig western digital cavier drive this past week and I formatted it and all. It shows sometimes in windows and sometimes it doesnt show. Soemtimes I am able to read and werite from it and other times windows comes up with an error saying that the drive is not formatted and it wants to know if I want to format it right there, but I know its formatted because I already have about 20 gigs of data on it. Also, the way I immediately know its not going to show in windows is when the computer POST's, if the HD will show it will show as WD800-something, but if it wont show it will start with an up and down arrow then the letters DOOJ. Has anybody ever had this problem before? Does anybody know if I will will have to reformat my drive again in order for it to work? Or maybe its just a bad drive?
