Problem recording to DVD-R using Nero 5.5.9

I tried to record my first DVD-R with my Pioneer 104 DVD-R/-RW, Memorex-brand media, and Nero 5.5.9. I used the wizard and followed it step by step, filling a data cd with about 3.5gb of mp3s. I also selected "Finalize Disc" and disable multi-session (since a pop-up msg said that recording with multi-session may make the disc's subsequent recording sessions unreadable in some dvd-rom drives). It finished recording without any errors, and I went on to test the disc. Half the mp3s work, the other half do not. It seems all the ones from A thru M work perfectly, but the rest won't open, nor will they copy to the hdd. Oh and I burned using the DVD-ROM (ISO) option since that was the default.

Anyone know what I did wrong? Or does Memorex media just stink? I've never liked their CD-Rs and since I couldn't find any Sony DVD-Rs, I thought I'd give them another shot. Also, Nero would only let me record at 1x. Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

how many files did you add? theire might be a limit on the number of files allowed in the root directory.

It was a few hundred files. They all show up on the disc but like I said, half don't work (and can't even be copied to the desktop). I tried burning another directory filled with mp3s and they all seemed to work. Has there been problems in the past with burning large numbers of files to the root directory?
