Problem powering up after upgrade.

My gaming rig was starting to really show its age lately with some of the newer games. I didn't really want to build a whole new system so I bought a few upgrades that I hoped would keep it alive for another 6 months.

The original system had the following specs:
Intel Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz
Asus P4G8X Deluxe MB
2 x 512MB Crucial PC2100 memory
ATI X800 XL AGP
Antec 420w PSU

I had bought a new P4 3.0 Ghz and a new ATI X1950 PRO AGP. Well I replaced the cpu and video card with no real problems. I went to fire it up and it would start to power up and then it would just give a single very short beep and then power down.

I thought maybe the X1950 was too much for the PSU so I went ahead and bought a new Thermaltake Toughpower PSU and swapped them out. Still no dice.

I went ahead and swapped the video cards back out and even reseated all the RAM just to make sure I hadn't bumped it or something but still no luck.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Reseat the CPU and heatsink maybe?
Does the motherboard manual tell you what the single beep and power down could indicate?

I'll try resetting the CPU and heatsink after work today. I'll probably try swapping out to my old CPU if that doesn't work as well.

Unfortunately the manual doesn't give any hints as to the problem I'm experiencing. It talks more about Post issues.
