reboot the machine, and as soon as you see the first text on screen, hit the 'del' key to enter your bios. if you can set multiplier settings and fsb without using jumpers, this is where you will do it. find the heading that allows multiplier manipulation and set it to 5.0x and set the bus frequency to 133mhz. hit esc and choose 'save & exit'. bingo.

I had the same problem with two KA7 motherboards. To this day I was unable to fix the problem or find anyone that could help me fix the problem. I ended up having to buy a new motherboard each time. The only guess that I can think of about this, is the bios got messed up some how and the only fix would be a new bios chip.

go to your m/board's website & download the latest bios for your particular m/board. you will need a flasher application as well. also note the exact instructions on how to flash that are posted on the site!
if you flash incorrectly, you can hose your system!
good luck.

To the people that are suggesting a bios upgrade: He cant updats his bios, his computer stops beore it boots windows/dos so there is no way for him to update it. I want all you guys to restart your computer and when it says "verifying DMI pool" hit the pasuse button and let your computer sit just like that forever, that is the problem he is having except is says "Building DMI Pool" instead.

hmm,you could try resetting the bios by shorting the jumpers(if they are there) or temporarily removing the m/board battery, with the power off.
that should reset the bios to factory default but can't guarantee if it'll solve your problem.
IMO, worth a shot!

I can say right now, that it wont work.....When I had this problem. I tried reseting the bios several times, tried removing the battary, tried moving my ram sticks around, tried a differnet CPU and video card and nothing. I'v E-Mailed Abit about this problem but no reply yet.
