Problem: Photoshop opening up jpg doc with a red background instead of white

It's just a typed document that i scanned to my computer in jpg format. Windows Picture/Fax Viewer opens the file up just fine with it having a white background, but for some reason Photoshop opens it up with a reddish background instead. How would i open the file up normally with Photoshop?

Are you in quickmask mode by any chance? The toggle is under the tools menu.

Color Profiles problem.

Change your photoshop color profile setting to S.RGB one. If that doesn't solve it, check your OS's color profile.
