The company I work for pays another company to run our website and mailserver. The client computers in our company are mostly running Windows 98 with Outlook 98. For backup purposes, we keep all messages on the server after downloading. Today, two of our company computers started downloading all of the old mail on the server, starting last April. We're hooked up through POP3 in Outlook 98. I have not been able to find an option to work offline or to stop it from coming in. One computer has over 800 previously read emails so far and the other has over 600. Both are running McAfee. I'm thinking that maybe the mail server overloaded and it's dumping emails back to us or something. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Cliff's:
1. We store read POP3 mail on our server
2. Read mail from April started re-downloading
3. How do we make it stop?
