Problem opening mms:// link

Hi,
Iam trying to play one of the mms:// links on widows media player and real player but get the error as file type not supported.
I suspect 2 things
1. My ISP does not support this protocol
2. This particular link has a steaming video and uses a codec that is not there in my comp.

BTW, this link is that of a particulat TV channel.

Please comment on this.
