The system powers on but immediately powers off. Sometimes it will stay on but wont post. In the little square where they show you stuff it stops on FF, which in the manual says Boot attempt (Int 19h) I do not understand what this means? can any one help me?

Specs
it7 max
1.8a
ati 7200 (until my ti4200 gets here)

Koolance cpu-200. Does a fan have to be plugged into the CPU fan header?

If the POSTCODE-device works the same way for ABIT as for EPOX you have a problem.
Does it show FF right from the start or does it run through some other digits before FF is displayed.
If FF should be displayed directly from the start you're screwed

The manual should give you the answer whether a fan on the CPU-FAN-HEADER is needed to boot, just try it anyway.
Wouldn't be the first ABIT that refuses to boot due to that "security-option".

FF(h) on an EPOX would mean that:
-possibly the BIOS-chip is not seated properly
-you're using a wrong BIOS-version
-"your mainboard has a problem" (quote from a german manual, kinda funny)
-an add-on-card (AGP or PCI) is not seated properly.
Could be the RAM as well.

I hope you have the possibility to cross-check your hardware.

Good luck...

On my abit board FF is the "everythings okay" code, as long as it cycles through first during post.

Cool.

Glad that none of my hints would have been of any help :D

But now that you've found the problem I have to admit that AS3 and the KOOLANCE CPU200 could work like "glue" on the processor and pull it just a little bit out of it's socket while installing the cooler.
