Problem On Asus A7A266-E

I have got XP1800+ and 256MB PC133 SDRAM on this mainboard under Windows XP. I have tested Geforce 2 MX and Radeon VE on it with Colin McRae Rally 2.0.
There is a common problem in these two graphic cards. They cannot render at a stable speed in the game. The car in game is suddenly fast and suddenly slow.
I thought that's my video card problem but I have tried two different chips on the same Mainboard.
Whatever which Video or AGP driver I am using, the problem is still existed.
When I test these two video cards on KM133 mainboard, they can render smoothly.
I am really angry with ALi Chipset now as I love driving games and now, I cannot enjoy them.
Does anyone have got this mainboard and meet the same problem?
Can anyone tell me how can I improve this situation? coz i want to buy a GF3 Ti200/8500......But I do think i should change the mainboard first.

Have you installed the ALi AGP driver?

If you use the Detonator drivers, you need to enable AGP transfers, as they are disabled by default on the later versions (bug in drivers, not deliberately disabled).

I have installed ALi AGP driver and i have tried version 1.80 and 1.83.
The problem is still exist.

I know that AGP Texture is not supported with Detonator driver. How can I enable it?
However, Radeon has the same problem on my mainboard. I am frustrated by this problem......

Download RivaTuner and enable AGP via "Power user" and then "System".

I gained at least 30 FPS in 3DMark2001SE after enabling that on my system.

Mine is totally stable, I really like it.

But there is one thing that I don't know, do really ASUS read the temperature correct?
I think I have a little too high, but not sure.

I believe the temperature is offset by about +10C.

My temperatures on an AthlonXP 1800+ are about 60-66, which is very high, but I don't seem to have problems. The temperature offset was carried over from the A7A266 which had a problem with one of the older BIOSes.

If it is read by a +10 degrees then I don't have to worry.
I have 44-45 degrees idle and 49-50 degrees during full load, I have a 80mm fan and two 40mm fans on a CoolerMaster HHC-001.
