Hi !

I just purchased a Asus CUSL2 motherboard and since I can't install my sound card (Diamond MX300). When Window asks for the drivers, I specify the right directory but he says he can't find them. They are the latest drivers from Aureal and they worked really fine with my old motherboard. I tried with Windows ME and Windows 98, I formated and reinstall Win98, I switched the card to another PCI slot (still not sharing an IRQ), I updates my BIOS and I can't make it work !!

Help me please !!!

- Pentium III 800EB
- Asus CUSL2 (bios 1002)
- 128 Mo PC133
- Maxigamer Xentor 32 (TNT2 Ultra)
- Diamond MX300

Thank...

Can you install other drivers? (I assume yes)
Are you sure you downloaded the correct drivers? There are both A3D drivers and sound card drivers on their Driver Download Page. It sounds like you may have downloaded the A3D drivers instead of the sound card drivers. Click here to download the latest Win95/98/ME drivers for the sound cards.

I hope that helps your problem.:)

If it doesn't, try setting the IRQ of the PCI slot the MX300 is in to 5 in the CUSL2 BIOS.

Thank for you answer.

Unfortunately, the drivers are good because I used them before with my old motherboard (Asus P2B with PII 350) and it's exactly the same you told me to use.
For the IRQ, I checked and everything looks good.

I think I'm gonna cry. Sometimes problems get solved just because we cry.

I am having trouble too. I installed the drivers, but only the main one (no midi, gamport or dos emu) and get an error about the above devices being on the secondary primary bus so they cannot be installed. Anyone experience this? If anyone has an MX300 and CUSL2, what PCI slot is your card in? I am running Windows Me. Thanks.

Finally I had the opportunity to test my MX300 on my friend's computer and I think my card is just not good anymore. Fortunately, it is still under warranty !!
