I have this problem with the opteron chip i have. Mine is the opteron 146 and i have clock it up to 2.8 on stock voltage. It has been running fine and i have prime95 it more than 48 hours without any error. But today when i boot up it has trouble going into window and when it does, window only recognizes it as 2.0ghz even though i have set it to 2.8 on bios. My mobo is asus a8n-e nforce 4.
Any input would be very helpful.

it saved, when it boots up i saw that it was clock at 2.8
then i have this program that comes in my mobo box that i've installed that reads it at 280x10 but comes out to 2.0ghz. it's really weird, and that frustrated me.
it worked fine all this time but now it doesn't.
 
not only cpu z, but when i go to window properties it also list at 2.0. but in bios it was saved at 2.8, i went back several times to check if it was saved in or not.
i know that it shoudl run fine as it have run it like that for the past week or so.
