Problem Logging into Windows XP Home

Hey, I have windows xp home edition. I've never had a proble w/my comp, come home, turn it on, then it gets to the log on to windows screen where you put your username and password. So i usually put in my name jsoto, and then password, and i log on. Yesterday, I did the same thing, but then it seems like it's logging me in, but then all of a sudden, it logs me out, all the way back to the log on screen. Did i delete a file on accident? OR did my girlfriend delete a file on accident, she was deleting some old dled pix, but not recently i don't think. Anyway I can disable passwords, so windows will load automatically? I can't get into windows at all!!!
 
You can boot up into safe mode, by pressing f8 just before the windows xp logo pops up, once in there you can log in as administrator and remove your password of your user account, or you can try to do a system restore back a couple a days to when you knew it worked.
 
So press F8 after the post right? Ok...sounds good, man can't wait to leave work so i can try that, i really hope it works.
 
I am not saying that you have the same problem as me - but this is exactly what happened at work sometime back. The whole tech team descended upon my office to find that somebody from Germany(!?) had control over my system and was running port scanners etc. He/She gave admin privl. and wont let me login for more than 20 min at a time.

Dont know if this is helpful - but you may want to check.

I had a system come into the shop I work at with this exact problem, and to resolve it, we either had to run a repair installation of Windows, or format the drive and reinstall Windows from scratch (I forget which, it was a few weeks ago). Trying to boot into safe mode, we were getting the same results - it would begin to log in, and then log out right away, no matter which user account we tried.

Well, after much thought, I just reformatted the haddrive and re-installed windows. Kinda sux, but oh well. Thanks for the help though.
