I have a Dell Insperon 2650 and trying to load Windows 98. The Video driver will not load.
It is an NVidia GeFroce2. The Dell Website and the Dell Diagnostic program both say the laptop has the NVidia chip. When I run the NVidia setup to load the driver, I get a message, NVIDIA hardware not found. I tried loading the dirver through the dirver update screens and ino progrees there.

Thanks.

Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Display Adapter

What does it say?

I think your downloading the wrong driver, are you downloading the geforce2go driver? If your trying to use the driver from nvidia, that will not work.

I am using the driver from the NVidia site...the Dell site does not have a Window 98 driver.

Do you know where I can get the right driver ?

thanks

I was all over the Dell site, They do not have video drivers for your Insperon 2650. Well they do but you have to be running Windows 2000 or XP. Nvidia also does not have drivers for you, they want you to contact Dell for them, which I just did.

I suggest you go the CDs that came with the computer and reinstall the original video drivers that came with the lap-top

From Nvidia NOTE: GeForce2 Go, GeForce4 Go and GeForce FX Go mobile processors are not supported in this driver. Please contact the notebook's manufacturer for graphics drivers for your notebook PC.

They exist..trust me.....just search their downloads for "geforce2 go". The windows Me driver should be just fine with 98. You work there long enough you can find any driver.

Hi Guys,

The Display dirver loaded is "Standard VGA" (16 color).

I downloaded the Geforce2 Go drivers form the Toshiba laptop page and also from 2 other web site. Five dirvers all together and they will not load. Can it be a problem with the lap top (hardware).

Thanks

Stanley

Not all geforce2go drivers are the same, with the laptop cards you need to stick with the drivers from the manuf. If you cant find it on dell's site, let me know and i can show you where it is.
