:( Another broken Microsoft optical mouse. My first one (an intellieye explorer) had the usual problem.. starting to die..slowwly going off time after time till it's lights out! I fixed it myself though.. and later sold it. It had the simple problem of wires breaking near the place where the wire goes into the mouse.

Well since then I've bought a new one.. this time just the regular intellieye. Now suddenly.. the left click button doesn't work!! So I think.. hey same problem as before! But after preforming the same fix I did b4 nothing changed.

ok. now I have a few general questions:
here are pinout diagrams of a usb connection and a ps/2 connection.

- These show that mouse data would only be transmited by 1 wire.. so if I had a wire breakage.. then the whole mouse would malfunction? right? No the problem is not another wire breaking?

- What else could be wrong?

I can't return the moues.. or buy a new one.. since they are neither sold in my area.. not is microsoft gonna send me one to another continent!. Please help!

I don't know much about this type of repair, but it seems to me the likely place to check is the switch under the left button. If that's the only thing not working, that seems like the most likely source of the problem.
