Hello, I hope this is the right forum to post into.
I have just aquired a new an Asus A7N8X-X motherboard and AMD XP 3200+ CPU, and am trying to put a clean install of XP onto my harddrive.
However, during setup of Windows XP, the system just hangs when it gets to "installing PCMCIA support". This is before I even get to the first menu. As far as I know, PCMCIA is to do with laptops - my board doesn't even have such a thing - so I can't understand why it should even try to add install such support.
Is there anyway that I can get the setup program to skip this bit? Alternatively, perhaps there is a BIOS setting that I could change. I've looked and there is nothing obvious.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have searched the web, the microsoft and Asus websites, and these forums without finding any solution.
