Problem installing Windows XP

I'm having problems installing windows XP. I keep getting a boot configuration error. I have previously installed the trial version of XP on this machine with no problems except for it expiring. I wiped the drive clean before the installation. The motherboard I'm using is a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP, I have flashed the BIOS to the most current version. I have tried disabling all of the integrated peripherials. Anyone have any ideas, as Gigabyte has not responded to my plea for help.

Hi,

Can you post the specs for your system, along with the exact error message if known. Please ensure you make clear whether your hard drive(s) are connected via the normal IDE channels - or by a RAID controller (even if only acting as a normal IDE channel).

Thanks,

Andy

I found a workaround for this problem!, I installed a minimal install of win98. Then I installed XP over it, It is working wonderfully. ???
