Problem installing windows xp

I am trying to install windows xp as i have hundreds of times before but the computer will not boot to xp after windows is installed. The install goes fine. I then installed the motherboard drivers and rebooted. That is when the problem occurs. After I see verifying pool it just stops right there. What could this be? Could it be a master boot record that is messed up on my WD raptor?
 
Fixed it. Apparently there was a boot issue going on. I unplugged the other hard drive, reinstalled windows xp again and all is fine.
