Problem installing Win2K

i can get as far as the first reboot, and when my system reboots i get this error message: setup could not find file: ntkrnlemp.exe, setup cannot continue. can anyone shed any light on what this is all about?

here are the system's specs

tiger motherboard (from tiger direct)
amd k6-2 350 mhz processor
cheap pci video card
128 mb of ram

hmm..are you sure your copy of the win2k cd is good?

pretty sure. funny thing, when i tried using the boot disks i got all the way to disc 3 or 4 and it gave me a similar error, that time it said nt4krnlemp cannot be found.. something like that.

anyone have any ideas? no one i've talked to in person or on any boards has the slightest clue what the problem here is, myself of course at the top of this list
