PROBLEM INSTALLING USB 2.0 PCI CARD

I ordered THIS USB 2.0 card.

I installed it into the PCI slot w/o a problem. I turned on the computer and it recognized the new hardware. It didn't install it on its own though. So I inserted the disk it came with and that didn't do anything. In device manager, the USB card had the yellow "!" over it.

I went to www.syba.com and found the part I ordered from newegg. I downloaded the driver. It came in a winzip attachment. I extracted it to the desktop and it appeared in a folder. I opened the folder and it had a bunch of files. I clicked on "setup.exe." It did its thing and restarted the computer.

I inserted a USB drive, but it didn't work. All 4 ports did not recongize the zip drive. However, in device manager, that yellow "!" is gone. It says "the device is working properly."

Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Try removing the hardware (physically), reinstalling the drivers, and then inserting the hardware. Windows needs it to be done this way sometimes for some retarded reason.

Sorry, Windows XP, Service Pack 2.

You should not need any driver software. XP should install the driver for you. The advice you were given was good. Remove the card from device manager and reboot. Let's see what happens.
