problem installing serial pointing device in Win2K pro.

OK - I installed it. Apparently my KVM can't work through a serial->ps/2 interface - so I installed without a mouse.
Since then I've installed a wireless keyboard temporarily because it has an integrated pointing device (serial) but even after installing the drivers I get no pointer. What do I need to do here guys ?
