ROE requires the 1.2 patch which came on the cd. When I upgraded to ROE, it would crash upon starting the game. I turned to regular doom3, and it crashed too. I uninstalled both games, wiped the directory clean and reinstalled. Now, after I install regular doom3, I try to patch to 1.2, or even 1.1. Even though it is a fresh install, it is telling me that the game has already been patched. So, when I try to install ROE, it says, wait, I have to install the 1.2 patch first. It tries, then says its already installed, and then stops the ROE install. I've manually installed ROE, but it doesn't matter because I actually don't have the game patched to 1.2. I'm stuck and I'm really pissed. I have a major surgery in a few days, and I was hoping to spend my time recouping by playing ROE.
Damn, I should have just spend the extra money and got HL2.
