Hi guys,

This is weird. But my friend just bought a pc100 128mb stick for her pentium 2 266. I told her pc66 and pc100 are compatible and it shouldnt really matter. But when she tried installing it, the system would just crash. She told me she tried every single combination possible. Is it a pc66-100 non-compatibility or is the ram bad?

thanks

I run P2 350 and I use PC-100 RAM ...

Say her old ram sticker was facing left, than the new ram sticker should be facing left as well ...

The ram sticker shouldn't matter. The ram is slotted so that it can only go in one way. Perhaps the ram is bad? Have her just install the new ram and see if it is stable. The fact that it is pc100 does not matter.

no problems with compatibility&stability
Altough my 32 mb died last week so now I`m running 16 + 64 mb

Just to confirm others' experience: I replaced PC66 RAM with PC100 for my P200MMX (long term outlook for upgrade) and it works just fine. Actually better since I had crappy PC66 that wouldn't OC to a 75fsb. Now I can zooooooooooooooommmmm along at 225! Wow!
