Problem installing Ram on a Dell.

I'm trying to install Gigaram 512mb in a Dell Dimension 4550, when I put it in I hear 6 beeps, finding the error on the site it reads:

''8042 Gate A20 cannot be toggled.''

What does this mean and what can I do about?

I am going to try and reset the cmos by removing the battery and putting it back, but does anyone else have any possible solutions?

Dell machines are notoriously picky about the RAM you can install. Honestly, I've only had luck installing Crucial. I'm using a Inspiron 1200 right now and it wouldn't even take a SODIMM of PC2700 Micron - I had to snag a Cruical stick from NewEgg.
