Problem installing new system

Hey people! I've finally installed my new computer system (component-wise)

ABIT AB9 P965
Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz
Corsair 2048MB
NEC DVD-RW
Samsung 250 GB SATA
Scythe Ninja PLUS
Sapphire X1900XT

So anyway, my problem is installing my OS (Windows XP Swedish OEM).

After the CD unloads its information before the actual installation, this error comes up

0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

It tells me to check for any viruses, or to see if the harddisk is damaged, or to disconnect any new hardware installed etc.

I highly doubt any of that is the problem, because its a brand new computer, nothing needs to be formatted.

Since my motherboard isn't AB9 Pro (can handle the 3gb/s that the HDD provides) I jumped by HD with one of those small modules, and it still doesnt work.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know if I would need to update the BIOS on Abit AB9 P965 or some drivers for my SATA or something to work with Intel Core 2 Duo ? That may be the problem..

I'm not familiar with error codes such as that and what they mean. But if it was me, I'd do the following.

Yes, flash the BIOS if not at the latest version.

If at the latest version, I would reset the CMOS following the procedure in the manual.

Test my memory.

Run the Samsung diagnostic on the HD. Assuming they have one available at their website.
