Im trying to install mandrake 9 and when it starts installing packages I get a bunch of "error installing packages: XXXX package name XXXX.whatever " error messeges and once i get to 8-9% it stops. whats going on ? I figured its a bad CD or ISO so I downloaded it again and still gettin the same problem.

FTP or NFS? NFS would require some additional work and by the sounds of it, you arent ready. FTP is simple, boot from the disk, when it asks you to select media, choose FTP. 😉

Same error messages? Any more information on other virtual terminals? Can you try a text install?

I got those errors too, and the checksum's matched. I went to RedHat next, no problems.
