Problem installing IIS fix

I have installed IIS and went to windows update to dowload the fix. What happens is that Download finishes and installation starts, but the progress bar gets stuck at the middle. I left it for 30 min and nothing would happen. I clickek cancel and when I went to admin tools and cliked the Internet Services management but it wont open. Just an hour glass but no window opens.
I reverted my HD few times (with GOBack) and tried to install the patch again but the same thing happens over and over.
Help?
