problem installing e6400 in p5b deluxe

I have followed the directions exactly and my e6400 seems seated comfortably in the p5b delxue. I removed the protective cap that came with the motherboard, by the way. Now when I push the lever down, it requires some *serious* pressure to get all the way down. I can't bring myself to do it, because I worried I'm doing something wrong.

Has anyone else done this installation? Did that lever require serious pressure to get down?

Make sure of 3 things:

1) The plastic cap is off of the CPU (pins bare)
2) Plastic cap is off the CPU socket on the mobo
3) The CPU is in the right orientation. (This shouldn't be difficult since the notches only allow you to put it in one direction)

I recently installed an E6600 in an Asus P5N32-E. The lever does take a bit of force to push down to get it under the bar.

Also, when you add thermal paste, it does not go in a bead in the middle like single core CPUs. It goes in a thin line from the top of the CPU down through the letters on the CPU.
