Problem installing drivers

I just installed a Sapphire 9800 SE. I'm happy with it, games look great, I can finally play Midnight Club 2, etc.

Only problem is, I cannot install the most recent Catalyst drivers. When I do, it says INF error, video driver not found.

The drivers that came with the card are very basic, I don't have an ATI control panel, or any of the extra ATI stuff in my advanced display properties.

I tried using the omega drivers, and they crashed my system everytime it started up.

I had the same problem just the other day, try re-installing the latest Catalyst a few times.. it took me until the 3rd try, then i was able to install the ATI CD w/o problems.

i had the exact same problem with the same card. I couldnt use the downloaded drivers at all, i had to use the ones off the cd. I still cant seem to get any other drivers to work.

I've tried lots of times. I even uninstalled EVERYTHING related to video and started over again. Same problem.

I did however find a standalone download for the control panel, so I got that going anyways. My driver version is only one behind the newest, so its not that horrible...

I went from 150 3dmarks to 2,718!!!!
