Problem installing CPU Heat Sink/Fan...solved!

My new system arrived today -- my first home-built computer. I have a FIC AD11 motherboard and a EP5-6I11 HSF. I'm trying to put the heat sink on the CPU, but the metal clip that is supposed to latch on either side of the CPU seems like it won't bend down far enough. I certainly don't want to force it, but it looks like even if I did, it wouldn't fit. Am I doing something wrong, or did I get the wrong part?

It could be bent or something, make sure it isnt.

If not, it is probably right, just tight.

If possible, push down the clip with a large flathead screwdriver. You will need to bend the clip outwards so it fits over the hook on the socket (use hand or 2nd screwdriver)

The metal clip has to be pretty snug to keep good contact between the CPU and the bottom of the HSF. The way I usually do it is hook the side on that doesn't have a hook on top for a screwdriver and CAREFULLY take a good size flat head screwdriver and hook it into the hook on the remaining clip and manipulate it gently until it snaps on the other side.
