For some reason I can not get this board's driver to install and it to work right. When I install the driver and it tells me to reboot I do and while windows is loading it just locks up and have to go back to before the driver was installed for the pc to boot up. I called Tech support, They really had no answers for me. Told me it must be the card and to go return it, I did and have same problems w/new one

I deleted my old driver before installing the new one
I updated my bios

I had The PNY 7900gs 256 installed in it and everything was fine w/it. And I just re installed it and driver loaded fine and its working fine.
So if anyone has any ideas, Please help!

Thanks for the link, But I had tried that already. the driver I had got was older than the one on the link you gave me. So when I saw this one was newer I thought Great that must be it, But no luck it does the same thing with the newer driver also.
I install the 8800gt and windows will boot but then I install the driver and go to re-boot and windows still locks up on the load screen. I am really stuck here, and have no idea what to do. I tried installing the driver differnt ways w/no luck. Can it be somthing with windows xp itself? should I try re-installing windows or maby go buy vista and try with a newly installed op. system?
Any ideas anyone? Please help, I have been waiting weeks to get this card and now cant install the darn thing. I built this pc from the ground up, so its not like I dont know what im doing.....:(

did u try safe mode?
install the drivers in safe mode see what happens.
Also you got the power connector on the card plugged in right?

No thats one thing that I have not tried yet, I thought of it but I have no problem installing the drivers for my 7900gs. Could that be the problem? install it in safe mode?

Give it a try:
Boot into safe mode, then goto add\remove programs and make sure all your old drivers are uninstalled.
Then install the latest drivers from the Nvidia's website, give the beta ones a try.

I'm using the beta ones with no issue's.

Do all that in safe mode and see how it goes.

What I would suggest that you try next is uninstalling the nvidia driver then reboot. Run driver cleaner to remove all nvidia display drivers then reboot and try the 8800 driver again.
